At Orientation you will:

• Receive your schedule and learn more about Bryant's unique customizable curriculum.
• Become more familiar with the campus.
• Meet many of your classmates and make connections with staff and faculty.
• Gain an understanding of community standards and expectations.
• Learn about academic expectations, campus life, leadership and involvement opportunities, technology, dining options, financial well-being, health and wellness, and much more!

What resident hall do students spend the night in during Orientation?

Bristol House and Warren House. Spending the night in these first-year halls during orientation is a great way for students to acclimate themselves to what living on campus is like. 

What happens if I cannot attend orientation? (Orientation is required for incoming students)

We will host a virtual orientation on June 17 for students who are unable to attend in person due to travel.

Who attends New Student Orientation, is it just students?

It is required for students to attend orientation; however, there is an optional family program that runs parallel to the student program. Families attend sessions designed to inform them about Bryant resources and help them support their students during their first year of college.

I have to travel from a distance, and may need to arrive a day early, what can I do?

Reach out to our New Student Programs Office at orientation@bryant.edu and we will work with you to try an accommodate your request.

When will I register for fall classes if I am an incoming freshman?

Your first semester courses at Bryant will be planned by your Undergraduate Advisor based on the course selection survey you submitted in May. Academic Advisors meet with the incoming students during New Student Orientation about how to find and read your schedule and review the General Education courses all students take. What does the orientation fee cover?

The fee covers the cost of staying the night in the residence hall, meals, activities, and everything that goes into ensuring a positive experience during New Student Orientation.

Welcome Week is a dynamic, week-long experience that builds on June’s New Student Orientation and kicks off your Bryant journey. Led by Bryant’s Welcome Week Leaders, the entire first-year class comes together to take part in campus traditions like the igNIGHT ceremony, connect with classmates and faculty, explore campus resources, and learn more about the community and its expectations.

Is Welcome Week mandatory?

Yes, Welcome Week is mandatory for all incoming students. This also includes athletes who will be excused from their practices to attend the sessions and festivities.

Do I have to stay the whole time?

Yes, you have to attend the whole time. We are flexible during the evening program, especially for commuters as we understand you need to drive home for the night to rejoin the program the next morning.

What happens during Welcome Week?

Welcome Week is a continuation of New Student Orientation. It serves to prepare you for your first semester and learn more about campus resources and opportunities. You will also meet with your Gen 100 Class and professor. We will also have the class photo as well as other traditions that take place during Welcome Week that you won’t want to miss!

Will I meet with my Gen 100 class during Welcome Week?

Yes, you will meet with your Gen 100 Class and professor. This class will count for attendance as well!

4MILE is a week-long cultural and leadership program uniquely designed for incoming international and domestic students. The program aims to foster a community that nurtures a sense of belonging. It also seeks to ease students’ transition to campus life by guiding them to academic and personal support resources. Furthermore, the program seeks to facilitate the formation of meaningful friendships and connections, enriching students’ educational journey.

Family and Friends Weekend takes place in November each year. This weekend is an exciting opportunity for parents and other family members of current Bryant students to visit campus and enjoy the community and spirit that Bryant students experience daily! 

Family members are invited to Bryant to tour the campus, meet other families, attend a football game, sample the dining hall, partake in a delicious outdoor barbeque, shop the on-campus harvest market, and more! Students can showcase their home away from home to their families and involve them in campus life.

Bulldog Beginnings is a fall semester program for first-year students. The calendar of weekly events is designed to continue to connect first-year students to each other and important campus resources.
