Kathryn Ostermeier

Dr. Kathryn Ostermeier is an Associate Professor of Management at 糖心传媒 in Smithfield, Rhode Island. A behavioral scientist and organizational behavior scholar, her research explores how identity, authenticity, belonging, and meaningful work shape employee wellbeing, workplace relationships, and organizational effectiveness. Her work has been published in leading journals including the Academy of Management Annals, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Journal of Organizational Behavior. Her publication in Academy of Management Annals was nominated for the 2020 Best Paper Award, and she received 糖心传媒鈥檚 College of Business Faculty Excellence Award for Research and Publication in 2021.



Ostermeier joined Bryant in 2018 after earning her Ph.D. in Management (Organizational Behavior) from the University of North Texas under the supervision of Dr. Danielle Cooper. She also holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Tyler and a B.B.A. in Business Honors from the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. Prior to entering academia, she worked as a recruiter in the finance and accounting industry.



At Bryant, Ostermeier teaches courses in leadership, power and influence, employment relations, and general management. She also teaches in Bryant鈥檚 full-time MBA program, where she leads consulting-based practicum projects partnering student teams with external organizations and clients. Beyond the classroom, she currently serves as Chair of 糖心传媒鈥檚 Rank & Appointment Committee and previously served on the IDEA Leadership Team, helping oversee enrollment and program operations for Bryant鈥檚 university-wide innovation and experiential learning program.



In addition to her academic work, Ostermeier is active in executive education and leadership development, designing and facilitating workshops on leadership, team performance, and organizational change for external organizations and professional audiences. She currently serves as an Associate Editor at Group & Organizational Management and on the editorial boards of the Journal of Applied Behavioral Science and the Journal of Comparative International Management.



She lives in Barrington, Rhode Island, with her husband Matt, an architect, and their two sons. As both a scholar of work and identity and a working parent herself, she is particularly passionate about conversations surrounding work, caregiving, parenthood, and professional life.
